So here it is...actually Katie beat us to it with her blog entry last night. Here is who the rest of us chose:
Abby chose her friend Morgan Scariano because "I miss her and she is my best friend"
Ben chose Matt "He is my best friend and I like to play cars with him"
Laura chose Mike- It has been a difficult year and I very grateful to have Mike there walking through life with me. And who else better to share Hope, Peace, Joy and unconditional Love to than the guy I chose to spend my life with 15 years ago?
Mike- chose Laura ( he will have to blog about why---I would just be making it up)
Here's to a week full of Hope!

Katie's Post- Hope for Grandpa!
'' Grandpa Lohrmann, '' I wrote. I had just prepared Grandpa a Christmas tree, full of memories like Grandma Lohrmann, and my mom, as a kid. Grandpa loved it! I had worked on it for about an hour or more, because I had to take off the broken lights and put on new ones, swicth that one and my mini Christmas tree, then I had to put on some ornaments, and finally, I decided to change those ornaments and put on new ones. ''Few,'' I sighed, ''All done.''
I choose to Give Christmas Away to Grandpa because he now lives all alone in Tabor Hills a nursing home because, this year, Grandma died. I thought he needed someone to cheer him up and make him happy. So, I came to the rescue (kinda)!
I learned that if you do good deeds to someone, even a stranger, you will feel glad to! Then the person that you made happy will also make someone else feel happy, and soon many people will be running around with a smile stretching from ear to ear, complimenting everyone they see. And soon, before you know it, you will be to!

Giving Christmas Away 2009
This year we are doing Christmas a little differently in our family. During the holiday season we spend a lot of time talking about Hope, Peace, Joy and Love that emulates the birth of Jesus. This year, we are going to give Christmas Away by sharing Hope, Peace, Joy and Love with people that are special to us. We are going to spend time building relationships and staying connected.
When we started talking about how we could give Christmas Away this year we asked our kids their ideas. Our original thought was to find an organization and work as a family to support that organization and therefore share Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. Our daughter Katie had another idea.
"I know who I am going to Give Christmas Away to this year...Grandpa Lohrmann. I am going to show him Joy, Peace, Hope and Love. This is his first Christmas without Grandma."
And...the concept came alive for us. What if we spent this Christmas investing in the relationships of those we love and cherish in our lives? So, we are going to be taking Hope, Peace, Joy and Love and turning each word into an action word. We will be blogging, as a family, about who we have each chosen to Give Christmas Away to. We will journal about what we did for that person and how it felt. We will be sprinkling the light of Christmas on the world....in our own little way. This Sunday we will post who we have chosen...after we light our Advent Wreath. Happy Thanksgiving!
